Hello! I’m Riley Huhta, a Michigan-based filmmaker and videographer. I’ve always been an artist, so I chose the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design for my Bachelor’s. There I discovered the magic held within a camera — I focused on film and television and absolutely fell in love with the art of video. In 2025, I packed my bags for London to study abroad at the University of Arts London College of Communication. We made three ten-minute short films that gave me vital set experience. I was the 1st Assistant Camera for It’s Haram! which involved pulling focus for every shot with Sony FX6 cinema-grade cameras. I was the Second Assistant Director for Under One Roof, assisting the crew on set. My largest role was editor for The Institute for Proper Ladies, cut in nine days on Avid Media Composer, the Hollywood-standard editing software — and I’m honored to have won Best Editor at our premiere’s award ceremony for it. Working in London was such a vital experience in my life and career, and I’ll cherish my time there forever.
When I got back to U of M, I created my senior thesis, Black Box Starburster, a video-production art installation. The exhibited project went on to win two more spots — the 2026 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition and the 2026 Commencement Exhibition. I was also a member of UMich Reach, an outreach production team that works with clients to market their brands. There I made three short fashion films: editor for A Pop of Color in Time, videographer and projection artist for Metamorphosis, and storyteller and screenwriter for Covet. I was a camera operator for Duderstadt Video Studio, filming many performances. My work exhibits my passion for precise camera movement and sharp, accurate focus pulling. I graduated in May 2026 from the University of Michigan, and now I’m diving full-force into the amazing world of video!
Some of my newest business projects include filming and editing for VR Homes and the promotion of their Buena Vista Complex Remodel. The Detroit project features a finished architectural walkthrough and a mini-doc reel featuring the iconic Detroit mural inside. Another project with Woodshop Joy is a series of social media marketing reels that I filmed and edited to promote the business. I edited these promotional reels for Fastivus advertising the upcoming race.
I’ve always loved meeting new people and sharing stories, and I knew I wanted to use my passion for the art form to uplift others and share joy. I offer full video packages that capture the essence of you and your vision — my job is to bring your story to life and hold onto the special moments so you can cherish them forever. I’m here for every step of the process. You tell me your vision, and I use my skills to bring it to life: whether it’s a wedding film, a music video, your child’s sports game, or a big family reunion. I’ll be there to capture that proposal and to create fresh social media content for your business. Whatever you need, I’ve got it covered, and I’ll work with you every step of the way to make it picture-perfect. My personal style is clean, cinematic, and contemporary — I pay close attention to detail and composition to create the finest-quality video for you to keep forever. I’m flexible, artistic, and totally down to experiment with any style your heart desires. Reach out with your idea, and let’s work together!
